Established in 1997, Jack of the wood was one of downtown Asheville’s first pubs and the original home of Green Man Brewing. We serve a great selection of whiskeys, 18 rotating taps featuring local and world craft brews, and an award-winning menu with comforting favorites. We present our long running Bluegrass Jam Thursday nights, TOURING BANDS FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS, and a Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday afternoons. We’ve got a blazin’ hot night lined up for y’all at @jackofthewood this SAT 4/20 when MAMA & THE RUCKUS take the stage at 9pm! To be blunt, this show is guaranteed to be the highlight of this festive Asheville holiday weekend! The Ruckus is led by powerful vocalist and lyricist, MELISSA MCKINNEY, who writes songs about the trauma & pain that every person inevitably experiences in their lives. Her emotive vocals serve as a beacon of hope & inspiration, inviting listeners to find solace & strength in the midst of life’s challenges. Joining in this musical ruckus are Patrick French and Owen Myers on guitar, Matt Guard on keys, Michael Dunham on bass, Hinton Edgerton on drums, and Rob French on harmonica.
