WELCOME to Jack of the Wood, a cozy, Celtic style pub located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

On a typical evening at Jack's you will find many of the patrons
gathered around the black walnut bar or at long tavern tables, engaged in conversation through which the taboo subjects of art, religion and politics are heavily woven. Others play darts or scan the papers while sipping pints of ale or munching on a plate of fish and chips.

When local musicians are fiddling away on Irish reels or picking some olde time mountain music in the corner, you can blink your eyes and imagine yourself in the Celtic Isles. A wonderful bunch of locals consider Jack their local pub, but are not opposed to sharing.

sessions which builds in fun and fervor through the night.  Open to
musicians who can reel.

This is the thinking man's trivia night. Voted #1 Trivia night in the Mountain Xpress best of poll 2009!
Weds-Old Time Jam 6:00 PM
A proud tradition at Jack's for 12 years! Old Timers come from all over Western North Carolina to be a part of the mountain music heritage.
Thurs-Bluegrass Jam 9:30
This is an evolved version of Old Time. Pickers stand around and play to their heart's content.
