“Jesse & the Jugs” is an electrified conglomeration of epic proportions that draws from old school honky tonk, swing, rock’n’roll and bluegrass featuring some of the finest pickers from the Asheville area. Jesse Harman is a songwriter born and raised in the wetlands that are the Eastern Shore of Maryland. He grew up working around fishing boats and helping out at his parents bar in the small beach town of Ocean City. After high school, Jesse moved to St Augustine, Florida and formed the West King String Band (Harman being on upright bass) with long time friends AJ Fox and Jack Studer, a bluegrass/folk/country outfit that continues to tour around 200 days a year. He now calls Asheville home.

Laurel Lee came to country music through rural Oregon AM radio. Fortunately, she also spent her formative years in Portland in the ’90s and was encouraged to take part in live and original music. Handwritten and forged with sentimentality and sincerity, she has contributed to the Americana songbook. She is known for her witty, wry, and touching lyrics that alternately expose the most precious secrets of one’s heart and hide those injuries behind a hardened Pioneer ethic. She delivers these stories in a high lonesome, unapologetic rock, and a crooning, swinging roll.

LAURA BLACKLEY & THE WILDFLOWERS – Laura Blackley, Ian Harrod, Dorsey Parker, Gabe Rohmann make the core group called The Wildflowers. Its rock and roll jamming folk music with both originals and covers. Ian Harrod and Laura Blackley sing and write songs, Dorsey shreds the lead and Gabe is a solid as a rock drummer. Most of all they have a blast playing together and it shows. Its always a dancing good time with The Wildflowers.
Laura Blackley is a singer, songwriter and purveyor of high lonesome Appalachian blues and soul. She was an on-air host and producer for seven years at WNCW 88.7 FM in Spindale, NC, spotlighting regional music, women in roots music, and bluegrass and old-time. She currently works (in addition to her gig schedule) as a Teaching Artist with Musicworks!, a program that utilizes music and musicianship to teach life skills to young children.

Jackson Grimm Album Release Party

Jackson Grimm marries folk pop melodies with the lonesome sound of traditional Appalachian music. In a region with a strong music culture, it is no surprise that Grimm’s songwriting is representative of his musical birthplace: Asheville, NC. His songs run the gambit from an homage to a traditional country waltz in “If Not For You”, an unrequited love song driven by a Beatles-esque melody in “I’d Hold You (But I Don’t Wanna Hold You)”, to a drunken partygrass song à la Old Crow Medicine Show in “Last Train Home”.
Grimm lives in Asheville, North Carolina, and can be found playing solo or around Western North Carolina with bluegrass band, The Bull Moose Party.
